Our stressful lifestyles of over-working and sleeping for fewer hours in the day, have made dark circles a common phenomenon. They can be caused by a variety of factors like:
- Improper Diet
- Insufficient Water Intake
- Prolonged Illness
- Lack of Sleep
- Too much exposure to Computers
- Excessive Stress
There are several simple remedies that you can perform in your own home that can rid you of those dark rings around your eyes.
Cold Tea Bags
Soak a green tea, or normal breakfast tea bag in water. Then cool it down in the fridge for 15 minutes, before placing them on your eyes. Doing this several times a week will reduce the dark circles.
Grate potatoes, extract their juice and soak cotton balls in the juice. Place these cotton balls on your eyes, covering your eyelids, for 10 minutes and then rinse off with water.
A stressful and hectic lifestyle can cause dark circles to appear. Yoga and meditation can balance your circadian rhythm, also known as your body clock, which will decrease your dark circles.
They are natural bleaching agents, which also leaves your skin feeling soft. Mix a teaspoon of tomato and lemon juice to create a mixture that you can apply on your dark circles for 10 minutes. If you apply this mixture twice a day then you can reduce the shadows under your eyes.
Several reasons can cause this under-eye phenomenon, but using over-the-counter chemicals to get rid of them can lead to other side-effects like outbreaks or dryness of skin. Try to achieve positive results by trying these simple and doable remedies, if you still don’t have any success then consult a professional.
